Portrait of the Artist
Carlos discovered his first interest in the arts in high school when he developed a prolific love of the guitar. In the years since he’s performed in an eclectic array of different bands, building his skills not only as a guitarist, but also as a bassist, drummer, and vocalist.
In the process he discovered some remarkable innate technical ability. Ever a dedicated student (and unbelievably hard worker), he nurtured that understanding to launch a successful personal development blog, www.consciousme.com, and is currently developing the site for Julie V. Photography, www.julievphotography.com – a business he partners with his wife Julie.
Carlos also maintains a full-time position at a large home improvement store, where he increases his expertise in sales. He brings that professional experience to the Consortium, contributing meaningfully with both his exemplary people skills and his understanding of what it takes to grow a business.
He hopes always to remain an avid student, and believes that, “We must mix mediums and inspiration. At heart, we are not writers or painters or musicians. We are artists. We cannot be limited in our expression to a single school of art. We must have the confidence and the opportunity to explore new methods of creation.”
